DADU: Lasmo urged to recruit locals

DADU, Jan 27: The people of the Sehwan taluka on Monday staged a demonstration outside the local press club to protest against the administration of Lasmo project, located at the Bhit Jabal.

The protesters were led by Mohammad Azeem Shahani and Liaquat Shahani.

Later, talking to newsmen, Liaquat Shahani criticized the Lasmo administration for depriving the local people of jobs, while people from other provinces were being appointed in the project.

He said that the officials of Lasmo had sacked 20 employees, adding that all of the sacked employees had been replaced by the people from Punjab.

Councillor resigns: One of the members of the union council-II, Dadu town, Councillor Lala Faheem Memon, on Monday tendered his resignation.

Speaking to newsmen at the local press club, Faheem Memon said that he had resigned because of the inability of the elected representatives to do anything worthwhile for the benefit of the people, widespread misappropriation of public funds.

He said that the collapse of the drainage and water supply system of the Dadu town had also prompted him to resign from his office.
