DADU, March 23: A dust storm hit Dadu town on Friday night leaving around 15 people injured from falling electricity poles, hoardings, trees and, roofs of mud houses.

They were taken to various government and private hospitals for treatment.

Dadu city remained without power all night due to fallen electricity poles. According to sub-divisional officer of the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco), Aziz Panhwar, 20 electricity poles carrying 11,000 transmission lines from Phulji feeder, 17 electricity poles near Makhdoom and three more near Pechuha area had fallen during the dust storm.

On Saturday, residents of Kamaluddin Solangi Mohallah staged a demonstration at Daro Road, on the Indus Highway, against Sepco for not restoring power since 8pm Friday night.
