ENGLAND: 15-year old Pakistani girl Malala Yousufzai, who was shot by the Taliban in Pakistan, will have a life story published on her later this year, in a deal reported to be worth around £2m, The Guardian said in a report published on Wednesday.
The book “I am Malala” is scheduled for publication in autumn and will document the story of Malala Yousufzai who was shot by Pakistani Talibans following her increased advocacy for women’s education in the Swat Valley region in Pakistan.
Malala has now relocated to England where she is attending a school in Birmingham.
In a statement, Malala said, “I hope this book will reach people around the world, so they realise how difficult it is for some children to get access to education.”
The book will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicholson in the UK and Commonwealth and by Little Brown in the rest of the world.

Can somebody please tell us WHO Malala REALLY is; she cannot 'just' be any 'student' from a 'remote' part of Pakistan. There HAS TO BE a family connection that resulted in her being so articulate. Is there a connection with old sultan-type family? Is there a connection with 'someone' in England?

Few days after Malala's incident when a group of Shia female students from Parachinar were going to Kohat for exams they were ambushed by Taliban and acid was thrown over them. They were all seriously injured. Has anyone ever heard about them? what about 100s other female students seeking hardships for education in remoted villages of pakistan

How many of those girls were educational activists? You think an ordinary girl living in Swat just happens to have connections with BBC just like that? Tbh I feel bad for the girls but thats the trend of the media. Its the popular people getting more attention. Benazir Bhutto got more attention than any individual that has died during the years of terrorism. Blame the media, not Malala.

A 15 year old girl writing her life experiences?After all the amount of money spent on her by Pakistan and England, is some one trying to wring out some more for their own benefit.Or are the proceeds from the book going to help the less fortunate in her country under STRICT PROPER scrutiny?If it is the latter then kudos to this girl and may her book sell.

Money minting started. Being a goodwill ambassador Malala should announce donation of 2 million pound towards the uplift of education in her region. Recently a lady school teacher was short dead, surprisingly no reaction for her or for that matter for the friends of Malala who were also shot.

@raika45 You can safely assume that the proceeds will be added to the Malala Fund which is dedicated to the education and empowerment of girls in Pakistan and around the world. So will the $1 million+ Malala will receive along with her fully deserved Nobel Prize. All of Malala's medical and educational costs are being paid by the Pakistan government. Her father has been given a post at the Pakistani Consulate in Birmingham and he takes care of his family independently with dignity. Not one penny of burden is being borne by the British tax payer. So you can rest your mind on that score.

She has just started her school in Birmingham (England) and wants to study law and politics. I don't think she will be back in Pakistan anytime soon. I know she is brave and intelligent but I am not sure if that will be of any benefit to Pakistan anymore.

I am sure when she started on her crusade, she had no idea she will end up where she is today. She could very well have been killed in that attack against her. Thank God she is still alive and prospering. For her to have a biography written about her is the best thing that could happen and for her to get paid is even better. Let the world know how brave this young lady is and let her be a role model for others. I hope her story will be a must read for all students. Whenever i read any good news about her - and lately, there have been several (her recovery, her going to school, staying in the United Kingdom and now this book), it warms up my heart. I wish her the very best and i am confident her future will be filled with success and prosperity. May God bless her always!

I can volunteer Urdu translation. Most Pakistansi aren't fluent in English and publisher is sending the message in English to masses. An Urdu version is very important to spread out Malala's message.
Am I correct? I also support the book must have Pashto, Dari, Persian, Sindhi Baluchi and Punjabi version.

There is no doubt about her and her father's courage. you wont realise it as you have not been in the circumstances when terror reigned Swat, when everyone was fleeing to save their lives. As for her return to Pakistan, please be patient; she still needs to be observed by the doctors. And those who believe in her and in her cause would be glad if she returns only after complete peace and writ of the state is ensured in Pakistan.

and who will the 2million go to? corrupt Swat administration or KP govt whose officials will loot the money and put it in their foreign bank accounts? Malala Fund is already assisting in education of girls in Swat and other areas.. best way to use funds is to involve credible NGOs
