LAHORE, March 30: PPP Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has said former dictator Gen (retired) Pervez Musharraf committed crimes against nation and he should have been arrested as soon as he landed at Karachi airport.

He said Musharraf would have to pay the price for his criminal acts like the murder of Benazir Bhutto, Nawab Akbar Bugti and Lal Masjid carnage.

Mr Ahsan was talking to media persons outside the office of the district returning officer on Saturday where he filed nomination papers of his wife, Bushra Aitzaz, for a National Assembly seat.

Commenting on hurling a shoe by a lawyer on the former dictator when he arrived in the Sindh High Court, Mr Ahsan said Musharraf was not worth even hurling a shoe. He advised people not to disgrace themselves by hurling shoes on Musharraf.

Senator Ahsan said the people talking about Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should also talk about Moonis Elahi and Hamza Shahbaz.

He hoped that Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi would ensure a fair and free election in the province.

To another query, he said his wife was awarded PPP ticket on merit.

Benazir Bhutto had a wish to bring Bushra Aitzaz in the National Assembly, he added.
