LAHORE, March 31: All major parties submitted their priority lists for women and minorities reserved seats on Sunday, the last day for filing these documents.

The Pakistan People’s Party which had earlier submitted the lists on Tuesday (March 26) reviewed its nominations and filed the same afresh.

Women from influential families featured prominently in the priority lists filed by the Pakistan Muslim League-N, the PPP and Tehreek-i-Insaf. However, most of the nominees were new-comers and only a few were repeated.

The PPP’s revised list for National Assembly’s reserved seats for women from Punjab issued with the signatures of former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf as secretary-general of the party contains names of Beelum Hasnain, Rukhsana Bangash, Farzana Raja, Fauzia Habib, Mehreen Anwar Raja, Palwasha Zia Khan, Nargis Faiz Malik, Arshia Akram, Bushra Aitzaz, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Samina Mushtaq Pagganwala, Yasmin Rehman, Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Nasira Siddique Mayo, Amtual Rahim, Memona Mushtaq, Shafiqa Rao Sikander, Surriya Zia, Ambreen Ismail, Zubaida Malik, Naila Sarwar, Naurin Waseem and Naheed Shafqat.
