KARACHI, April 7: The higher Education Commission (HEC), Multan Region, Pakistan Board and Hyderabad Region won their matches at the eighth National Women’s Cricket Championship underway in Lahore and Muridke on Sunday.

HEC beat Lahore Region by 52 runs at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.

Electing to bat first, the HEC posted 212 for eight in the stipulated 50 overs. Iram Javed remained not out on 60, studded with six fours. Sidra Amin posted 33 and Aliya Riaz 29. In reply, Lahore Region could only make 160 all out in 46.2 overs.

HEC’s Iram Javed was declared the player of the match.

Meanwhile, at the Ittefaq Cricket Ground in Lahore, Multan Region outgunned Rawalpindi Region by 102 runs.

In the day’s third match, Pakistan Board beat Bahawalpur Region by five wickets at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke, Ground No 1 while at Ground No 2, Hyderabad Region beat Abbbottabad Region by three wickets.
