UPPER DIR, April 11: Jamaat-i-Islami central deputy chief Sirajul Haq has said that after coming into power they will make the former rulers accountable for their corruption.
Addressing public meetings in Sheringal and Brawal areas of Upper Dir, he said that the previous government of Pakistan People’s Party and Awami National Party multiplied the problems of people instead of resolving the same.
The JI leader alleged that the previous government plunged the country into turmoil and destroyed state-run institutions like Pakistan Railways, PIA and Pakistan Steel Mills.
He said that ANP government miserably failed to resolve problems of people rather promoted the culture of loot and corruption and increased price hike and loadshedding in the province. He added that people would not vote for those parties again.
“Everyone, from a worker to a leader, in PPP is corrupt,” Mr Haq alleged. He added that PPP former MNA from the area had claimed he spent Rs13 billion on development of the district but nothing existed on the ground.
The JI leader claimed that their party would win all the four seats in the district. He said that provincial council of JI decided to appoint him chief minister of the province if the party cam into power after the general elections.
He said that provision of health and education facilities were on the top of their agenda. He said that they would issue cards to citizens of over 60 years of age for free treatment after coming into power.
