DADU, Feb 2: Two men died of hepatitis-B in two villages of Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka on Sunday.
Taj Mohammad, 60, who was infected with hepatitis for the last 30 days, died in Jakhro village.
Shaban Babbur, 35, died in Mureed Babbur village.
A large number of residents of different villages of Khairpur Nathan Shah and Dadu talukas are suffering from hepatitis-B.
DEMO: A large number of residents OF Khudabad staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday against THE PTCL officials.
Talking to newsmen, the protesters said over 60 telephone connections of Khudabad and Phakka exchanges were inoperative for the last two months.
COPS INJURED: An ASI and a constable of the Nooriabad police station were injured when robbers opened fire on them on Saturday night.
The robbers were looting passengers on the Super Highway, in the jurisdiction of the Nooriabad police.
When the police tried to arrest them, they opened fire, injuring ASI Ejaz Ahmad Brohi and constable Sikandar Ali Hingoro.
The injured were admitted to the Liaquat Medical University Hospital, Jamshoro.
SCHOOL: The Army Public School, Dadu will soon be upgraded to a cadet college and admission to the college will begin from Feb 1.
This was stated by the principal of the Army Public School, Dadu, Javed Khokhar, while speaking on the occasion of the first meeting of parents and teachers in the school’s auditorium.
Five new sub-army public schools would be opened in Bhan, Johi, Phulji and Dadu in 2004 to supplement the main Army Public School, Dadu.
He said that short evening courses on computers, information technology and other subjects would be started soon.
