SUKKUR, May 4: Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto took out a rally in Jacobabad on Saturday in protest against an acute shortage of drinking water and prolonged electricity outages.

According to reports, the rally taken out from Shaheed Bhutto house marched on different roads and reached in front of the DC office where the protesters held a sit-in for two hours. The main gate of the DC office was immediately closed to avoid any untoward situation.

Later, the protesters marched up to the local press club where they staged another sit-in, blocking the DC office road and suspended vehicular traffic for some time.

Addressing the participants, PPP-SB activists said a water supply scheme for Jacobabad had been completed with the cost of billions of rupees but it had failed to benefit the citizens and they were compelled to use contaminated water.—BoC
