Out of the darkness

In the last few months, Pakistan's transvestites have come out of the darkness, into the light, as reflected in this image. The Supreme Court in December ruled that eunuchs are entitled to inheritance and guaranteed their rights. Eunuchs will also be allowed to identify themselves as a distinct gender, as per the apex court's ruling. In this image, captured at a local circus, transvestites are seen looking up towards the cheering crowd while a motorcyclist prepares for a stunt in the 'maut ka kuaan'.
