ATTOCK, Feb 8: A robber was shot dead by his fellow during a robbery attempt at Jand Khail village in the jurisdiction of Injra police station.

A shopkeeper, Javed Iqbal, reported to Injra police that when two masked persons entered the shop, he tried to overpower one of them. The other man opened fire on the shopkeeper but the bullet missed him and hit his friend.

The robber, who was later identified as Mohammad Usman, died on the spot.

In another incident, two persons, Sultan Afser and Nazaquet Khan, resident of village Ghourghusti took away Mir Zaman’s car (RIU 6103) at gun point near Barazai More when he was on his way home from Hazro.

Rangu police have arrested an armyman, Kaleemullah, on charge of assaulting an 18-year-old boy. The police said Mohammad Ali, a resident of Basia village, was on his way to another village on bicycle. He was intercepted by the accused near village Shahpur and assaulted. When the victim cried for help, the villagers reached the spot and held the culprit, who was later handed over to the local police.
