NAWABSHAH, Feb 9: The members of the Shehri Action Committee, Nawabshah, observed token hunger strike outside the press club on Sunday in protest against the district government and municipal administration for supplying contaminated water to the citizens.

The protesters were led by the president, Shehri Action Committee, Rao Faheem Ahmed Kalanori.

Carrying banners and placards, they raised slogans against the district government and municipal administration.

They protested against the supply of contaminated water.

They said that the water being supplied contained silt, rust, and all sorts of bacteria, and added that sewage was mixing with the water.

They said that the life of the citizens was being endangered due to the contaminated water.

They said that the district government officials, who got elected through their votes, had completely failed in providing them pure drinking water, disposing of the garbage, repairing the drainage system, and providing them other basic facilities.
