SUKKUR, Feb 17: Mir Khalid Ahmed Khan Lund, Federal State Minister Water and Power, said on Sunday that after the completion of the Chutyari Dam in Sanghar District a large area of the arid zone would become fertile.

He said this while talking to newsmen in Khalidabad, Ghotki district, on Sunday.

He said that Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali would inaugurate the project on Feb 19.

He said that some schemes to construct more small dams throughout the country were being planned.

He claimed that it was mere propaganda that Punjab was stealing the water of Sindh.

He said there was no justification in protesting against the LFO as the present parliament was elected under the LFO.

UTILIZATION OF FUNDS: The provincial minister of information technology, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, said on Sunday that he was not satisfied with the past working of information technology in Sindh and funds utilized by the Sindh government.

He said this while talking to newsmen in Sukkur on Monday.

He said a thorough inquiry on the expenses incurred during the last two years over different projects of the ministry was ordered.

He said that work on the IT University was continuing and it would be completed by the next financial year.

He claimed that the planning and development department, under which the ministry was working, planned to establish IT campuses in 18 towns excluding Karachi in order to facilitate the people of Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana divisions.

Mr Shabbir said that for the promotion of IT in Pakistan, different countries intend to invest in Pakistan, and added that in this connection, delegates from Canada and Singapore had discussed their feasibility reports with the Pakistani officials and shown their interest to invest in IT in Sindh.
