No arrest was reported as smugglers escaped before raid conducted by ANF.—File

QUETTA Anti Narcotics Force Balochistan seized a huge quantity of opium from the Barshor area of Pishin district on Thursday.

According ANF officials, troops acting on a tip off about the presence of drugs, moved into the area. During the search they recovered around 1200 kg of fine quality of opium that was brought from Afghanistan for onward smuggling.

However, no arrest was reported as smugglers escaped before raid conducted by ANF.

The seized opium is estimated to be worth several million rupees in the international market.
