Snowfall in Chitral continues

CHITRAL, Feb 19: Life in Chitral came to a standstill as a result of continuing snowfall for the last five days.

Chitral city was without electricity as Wapda has shut down local hydel power stations and disconnected power supply from the national grid passing via Lowari Pass. The supply was cut to avoid further loss due to the rains and windstorm, sources said.

Air and vehicular traffic to and from all parts of Chitral was also suspended for the last five days owing to the snowfall.

ISLAMIC SYSTEM: Chitral MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has said that the MMA government is sincerely trying to implement Islamic system in the NWFP and for this purpose all resources and ways are being utilized.

Speaking at an open kutchery here the other day, he said the Islamic system is panacea for all problems being faced by humanity.  

Maulana Chitrali asked the government officers to bring about a complete change in their attitude and act as the servants of the people.
