LARKANA, Feb 21: The alleged mastermind behind the gold heist from the lockers of the Naudero branch of the National Bank of Pakistan, Nisar Ahmed Mirani, was arrested late Thursday from Guddu in a raid.

Talking to this correspondent, the DPO, Larkana, Noor Ahmed Paichuho, expressed the hope regarding recovery of the stolen gold, saying that the accused was being interrogated.

Meanwhile, the bank’s management has initiated an in-house inquiry into the incident, sources in the banking circles said.

The custodian of the lockers, Mohammed Ibrahim Khuhro, was shifted to the cardiology of the Chandka Medical College Teaching Hospital after he developed a heart problem.

BODY: The body of the slain headmaster of the Government High School, was found on Thursday in his home in Waleed near Murad Wahan.

The police said that it had found the body of the 55-year-old Haji Faiz Mohammed Shahani lying on a bed when it arrived at the crime scene after being informed by Mushtaque Shahani, son of the deceased.

The police said that he had been killed a day ago when his family had gone to attend a marriage ceremony.
