ABU DHABI Another exciting match comes to an end with West Indies losing the match after they were given several chances by Pakistan. From the West Indian point of view, Chanderpauls innings was key but wickets kept falling around him, making it difficult for him to reach the modest total set by Pakistan.

Intikhab Alam, the new Pakistan, must be delighted with his teams effort. This will put some burden off his and captain Shoaib Maliks shoulders.

An all-round performance by Sohail Tanvir gets him the man-of-the-match award. A number of Pakistani players chipped in with good performances with the bat and ball. A few dropped catches and missed run-out chances will must be worked on. Overall, a much-welcome win for the Pakistan cricket team that has been hit by controversies and rusty performances over the last few months.

The final match of the three-match tournament takes place on Sunday where West Indies will look to restore some pride and Pakistan will aim for a white-wash.

UPDATE OUT!!! And its all over!! Umer Gul gets the last wicket. West Indies are bundled out for 208 as Umer Guls second last delivery hits Bakers leg stump. Chanderpauls hard-fought innings is not able to save the Windies. Pakistan wrap-up the Fortune Cup with this victory.
UPDATE OUT!! Umer Gul bowls a straight-ish delivery after seeing Powell back off to hit a big one. The balls goes on to hit the middle and off stumps and puts the West Indies in a very difficult situation now. Baker on strike.
UPDATE Umer Gul is bowling the last over. A single off the first ball brings Chanderpaul on strike. Gul must keep them in the block-hole to contain Chanderpaul.
UPDATE Powell to face the first ball of the second last over. West Indies MUST score a few boundaries in this over to be able to have some chance in the last one. Unless, of course, Chanderpaul pulls off an Akmal in the last over!
UPDATE Chanderpaul needs to play some big shots now. He cant rely on Powell to accompany him till the end.
UPDATE Chanderpaul nudges Sohail Tanvirs first delivery for a single. Powell on strike now...
UPDATE Out! Saeed Ajmal gets his first wicket of the match as he tempts Miller to heave one over the on side. Miller nicked the ball...looked like a faint edge and Akmal makes no mistake this time.
UPDATE Chanderpaul completes a well-rounded hundred (including two dropped chances).
UPDATE Jerome Taylor goes to a Rao Iftikhar delivery that stays straight but the ball hit Taylor on the thigh-pads. Controversial decision from Daryl Harper.
UPDATE Bowled m!! Umar Gul bowls a full-length delivery to Carlton Baugh, who backs off and the ball uproots the stumps! Pakistan have one hand on the trophy now. Chanderpauls still hangs on.
UPDATE Pakistan decide to take the third power play as West Indies look to rebuild after two quick wickets. Umar Gul  is brought back into the attack by Malik.
UPDATE Out!! Findlays uncomfortable stay at the crease comes to an end as he is sent back by Chanderpaul after he took off for a run that wasnt there. Younus Khan is quick to throw the ball back to Akmal who dislodges the bails while Findalys bat is still in the air above the crease. Some respite for Pakistan (and Ajmal).
UPDATE Dropped! Saeed Ajmal drops Chanderpaul again! This time on 63. Afridi is not impressed at all. Chanderpaul tried to work one away on the leg-side, scooping it in the air. Ajmal made an unnecessary dive to catch the ball and popped it out of his hands. If West Indies win it now, this will definitely be the biggest turning point. One wouldnt want to be in Saeed Ajmals place, especially after dropping a dolly off Afridi. Our commentary team believes this could hand the match to the Windies.
UPDATE The dangerous Xavier Marshall is run-out. What a mix up! Marshall came half way down but was denied by Chanderpaul. The left-handed Findlay walks in. And he is dropped second ball by Mr Akmal! Akmal has been very consistent with his glove work, regularly grassing easy catches. Afridi to continue, he is in his 8th over now.
UPDATE Chanderpaul makes yet another fifty. He compiled that innings with perfect calm amd composure. Not enough can be said about this man. West Indies now need 121 more runs from 20 overs. A pretty simple tasks in Twenty20 terms. The only way Pakistan can win this is by bowling the West Indians out.
UPDATE Gone! Shahid Afridi gets Ramnaresh Sarwan leg-before wicket on a delivery that swung in. Pakistan have a glimmer of hope now. Xavier Marshall in for the West Indies.
UPDATE Shahid Afridi brings some life into the game by bowling a few good deliveries. However, Chanderpaul and Sarwan look well set to take the game away from Pakistan within the next few overs.
UPDATE Saeed Ajmal drops Chanderpaul on 17! Could this be the turning point of the match. Chanderpaul hardly offers any chances when batting and this one that should have been taken. Saeed Ajmal is yet to bowl in this match and it will be interesting to see how he reacts now.
UPDATE Umar Gul bowls a maiden over. The bowlers have put a brake on the scoring rate (2.93) but with 8 wickets remaining and 35 overs to go the game is still comfortably placed for the Windies. The pitch is flat and the batsmen can afford to play on the up. It will be interesting to see when the 3rd Power Play is taken by the West Indians. Are they waiting for the spinners? Dont forget they still have Xavier Marshall waiting in the ranks.
UPDATE Pakistan keeping it tight here. Sohail swinging it both ways and seems like the only threat to the West Indies. Sarwan and Chanderpaul are playing it cool, picking up the singles and waiting for the ball to lose its lacquer. Its amazing how Chanderpaul with his open stance still has so much time to work the ball. The guy has to be the most underrated player in cricket.
UPDATE Tanvirs the man again for Pakistan. Chattergoon goes to an out-swinging delivery on a driving length. Tanvir is bowling all over the place at the moment and that one, a straight one even surprised the batsman. The ball is swinging like a dart at the moment and the key is to bowl it full. Chanderpaul now in and is definitely the ideal batsman for this situation. Umar Gul continues with his short stuff and is leaking runs. The pathan is seemingly looking for revenge after being struck by a bouncer while batting. But with Sarwan and Chanderpaul at the crease that is cheesecake.
UPDATE Bowled! Gayle goes. What a wicket for Pakistan. Sohail Tanvir got the ball to move in late, Gayle was clearly late on that one. The ideal start for Pakistan. The ball is moving around a great deal.
UPDATE Sohail Tanvir to open the bowling for Pakistan. Chris Gayle and Sewnarine Chattergoon will be looking to take it easy after restricting the Pakistanis to a modest total. If Pakistan learned anything from the West Indies they should bowl full and within the stumps with the new ball.
UPDATE Umar Gul goes after smacking Powell for a six. Pakistan are all out for 232 with one over remaining. An awesome bowling display by the West Indies who came back strongly after being wounded in the last game. The Windies require 233 from their 50 overs at a run rate of 4.64.
UPDATE Sohail Tanvir out. Another run-out. Umar Gul was watching the ball and Sohail Tanvir had come way down the pitch. Just when Pakistan had gathered some momentum another wicket falls. Pakistan have a notorious record with run-outs. It will make for an interesting graphic if the Pakistani modes of dismissals are actually tallied and put side by side.
UPDATE Rao is out to a mean bouncer from Jerome Taylor. The ball brushed his glove then the helmet and balloned up for an easy catch for the keeper Carlton Baugh. The Pakistani batsmen continue to be vulnerable to the short and moving ball. It begs the question what have all the coaches been doing with these guys? West Indies have deadly combo in Taylor, Baker and Powell. They have improved their fielding remarkably and that is mainly due to the intoduction of young legs in the team.
UPDATE Pakistan have taken their 3rd Power Play in the 43rd over. It might be a little too late with Rao and Tanvir at the crease. Jerome Taylor continues to dazzle. He is not a big guy but generates amazing pace with a front-on action. He has skiddy bouncer and mean slower ball. The perfect ingredients for the final overs.
Jerome Taylor gets the big one! Afridi is caught behind. It was an out swinger, the ball moved a little after pitching. Afridi gone for 28. Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal and Rao Iftikhar now left and surely Pakistan down in the dumps now at 180 for 7.
Kamran goes. Tries to play an on-drive to a straight ball. Lionel Baker kept it right and has been rewarded again. Baker is showing here exactly why it is vital to bowl full and straight in the death overs. Sohail Tanvir in, he can hit the big shots but is very leg-side oriented. Afridi now needs to hold his nerve and bat till the end.
UPDATE 13 runs of that Sarwan over. Pakistan 174 for 5 in 40 with Afridi picking up a four and a six off that over. The stage is set for both these batsmen to blaze away but they have to play straight. The West Indian bowlers know the Pakistanis will be attacking and will be looking to bowl the slower balls. Kamran Akmal has quitely moved on to 45 53 balls.
UPDATE Afridi dropped by Baugh on 4. It was a healthy edge but the keeper was very stationery. Can Afridi make use of this lifeline?
UPDATE Misbah goes. Just as he was being heaped with praise. But to his credit he go out to an orthodox cricket shot this time. Afridi in now. This is the perfect occasion for him to silence his critics and cement his place in the side as he has been plain awful with the bat lately. The ball will be changed after this over.
UPDATE Misbah gets to his 6th ODI fifty in 85 balls. Very sedate yet sensible knock from him. It proves that you dont need fours and sixes to make runs. Misbah is a grafter but he will need to stay till the end as good when slogging it out in the death overs.
UPDATE At the end of the 25th over the score is 92 for 4. Pakistan wll look to consolidate here as there are plenty of singles on offer. The batsmen to follow are Afridi and Sohail Tanvir. Afridi needs to come in with atleast 10-15 overs to go, giving him too much time and overs to think will not allow him to play his natural game. The West Indians have been amazing in the field today.
UPDATE Malik is run-out going for a needless second run, turned blind and failed to make it back. The throw from Darren Powell was straight into the keepers hands!
UPDATE Spin from both ends now for the West Indies, Gayle and Miller. Chris Gayle has transformed himself into a serious bowling option for his team, he keeps it tight with the occasional big turner and those fired-in fuller deliveries. Slower bowlers in general have become the preferred choice in the short version of the game. The top teams in the world have always been the ones with good quality spinners and it seems the only one now with that luxury is India. Amit Mishra, Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla make up a strong spin unit.
UPDATE At the end of the first 15 overs, Pakistan are 59-3, requiring a solid fourth-wicket stand between the captain and vice-captain. The West Indian bowlers continue to do the basics right and are not afraid to mix the deliveries up. Nikita Miller, the slow left-armer, now into the attack.
UPDATE Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik walks in to replace Younus. His team will be expecting another captains knock from him.
UPDATE Clean bowled! Younus misses an outswinging delivery from Powell, playing it late with lack of footwork. Just when the Pakistan innings looked like it was moving at the right pace!
UPDATE The 50-run partnership comes up for the third wicket. Younus and Misbah have stabilised the Pakistan innings to some extent. Younus has reached 34 from 41 balls and Misbah is on 14 from 27 deliveries.
UPDATE A very relaxed-looking Kamran Akmal is already padded up. Is he going to be sent up the order? The stadium is packed today, perhaps expecting another electric performance by Pakistan. There is no doubt that both the Abu Dhabi and Sharjah grounds will be full if Pakistan were to have a home series at these locations.
UPDATE Younus plays two exquisite shots, one a pull and the other a smashing square cut for four. He follows it up with a classical cover driver. Three boundaries, what an over for Pakistan! Younus is one Pakistani who looks comfortable on all pitches and plays the ball quite late. Lionel Baker, playing his second match, comes into the attack. West Indies, buoyed by the Standford Super Series, seem to have a bigger pool of talent to recruit from now.
UPDATEBoth Darren Powell and Jerome Taylor are bowling a full length, giving the new ball extra time to swing. Backed by electric fielding and anxious running by both Younus and Mishbah they are definitely in with a chance to pick up another Pakistani wicket.
UPDATE Pakistan are crawling along at a run-rate of 2.6 runs per over at the end of the first five overs. This has been a very poor start by the Pakistan team, losing both openers and failing to hit a single boundary, despite the field restrictions.
UPDATE OUT! Khurram Manzoor goes, playing across the line to a full out-swinging delivery from Darren Powell. Two new batsmen at the crease now and will probably not be able to make use of the first power play.
UPDATE Salman Butt goes! Butt tries to play a short of the length delivery on the leg-side and ends up popping a catch for Jerome Taylor who makes no mistake in claiming his first ticket.
UPDATE Khurram Manzoor and Salman Butt open the batting for Pakistan. Butt will be looking to improve his performance from the first ODI where he failed to score at a healthy pace.
Shoaib Malik won the toss and decided to bat in the second one-day international against the West Indies at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium here on Friday.
Pakistan have made two changes to the line-up that won the first match by four wickets on Wednesday, bringing in paceman Rao Iftikhar and off-spinner Saeed Ajmal for Abdur Rauf and Fawad Alam.
Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar failed to pass a fitness test on Friday as he had not fully recovered from the calf injury that sidelined him for the first match.
West Indies brought in fast bowler Shawn Findlay in place of Brendan Nash as their only change.
