ISLAMABAD, April 10 British Foreign Secretary David Miliband told Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday that United Kingdom would soon share information about the Pakistani nationals arrested in north-west England in connection with an alleged terror plot.

Mr Miliband called Mr Qureshi after Islamabad pressed London to provide information about the 11 arrested Pakistanis, 10 of whom are there on student visas, to enable it to take action against their possible linkages in Pakistan.

Mr Miliband is reported to have told Mr Qureshi that the British authorities were still investigating the matter and information coming out of the probe would be shared with Pakistan.

A diplomatic source said that Pakistan was completely in dark about the identity of the arrested men and had no information about them, although Prime Minister Brown, who phoned President Zardari on Thursday and asked him to do more in the fight against terrorism.

Mr Qureshi, during his conversation with Mr Miliband, expressed Pakistan's inability to proceed against the people arrested in Britain without sufficient information.

Mr Qureshi and Mr Miliband agreed to work closely on immigration controls to prevent terrorists from travelling to the UK.

FO spokesman Mr Abdul Basit said that the foreign ministers also spoke about the Friends of Democratic Pakistan meeting to be held in Tokyo on August 17 and the proposed European Union-Pakistan summit.

They expressed satisfaction at the state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their desire to strengthen Pakistan-UK ties.
