ISLAMABAD, March 28 Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has described the recent Pakistan-US strategic talks as 'extremely successful'.

Talking to reporters at the Lahore airport, he said that during the talks significant progress had been made on the issue of drone technology and the nation would soon hear good news on the matter.

“In fact, on every issue the US response was better than expected,” he said. “We held talks in a cordial atmosphere. All issues came under discussion. Both the sides got the chance to explain their points of view,” said Mr Qureshi.

The US officials did not ask the Pakistanis to do more, he said. And Pakistan talked about trade, not aid.

Answering a question about civilian nuclear technology, Mr Qureshi said insistence on some matters was not in the national interest.—APP
