Militants kill four in Hangu

Published April 8, 2010

KALAYA, April 7 Four people were killed on Wednesday when militants belonging to 'commander' Hakimullah group attacked the house of a member of the rival group in Shahukhel area of the Hangu district.

Armed men led by Ziaur Rehman raided the house of Sakhi Rehman, killing him and three others.

Sakhi Rehman belonged to Sheikhan tribe and enjoyed the government support. He had announced that a lashkar would be raised in Orakzai against the Hakimullah group.

He took shelter in Shahukhel after having been forced to leave the Orakzai region, apparently because of his links to the government.

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the murder of Sakhi Rehman.

In a statement, TTP spokesman Hafiz Saeed warned that those wishing to raise lashkars against Taliban would face serious consequences.
