LAHORE, March 5: Three matches were decided on the opening day of the Pakistan Inter-Varsity women’s hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

In the first match Karachi University defeated Peshawar University 1-0. Inside-left Ghazala scored the match-winner.

Punjab University trounced Khairpur University 8-0.

 Punjab led the first half 3-0. Ayesha Arif and Sonia Khan scored two goals each while Neelma Hasan, Laila Feroze, Beenish Hayat and Rabia Qadir added one each.

Karachi University defeated Lahore College University 1-0. Left-half Aamna scored the winning goal.
