QUETTA Three Iran-bound pilgrims were killed and four others injured in an attack near the Hazar Ganji bus-stand on Friday.

The pilgrims who had come from Karachi were waiting for a bus for the border town Taftan to proceed to Iran to visit religious sites when three men on a motorcycle opened fire at them.

DIG operations Asif Ejaz Sheikh told Dawn that three of the pilgrims died on the spot.

They were identified as Mumtaz Fatima, Salman Ahmed and Mohammad Abbas. The injured, a girl among them, included Zawwar Hussain, Murtaza and Qurban Ali Perkani. They were taken to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and civil hospital.
