RAWALPINDI, Nov 30: A report submitted in the District Assembly sought approval of monthly honorarium, daily allowances, transport, phone expenditure and other perks and privileges for Nazims, Naib Nazims and members of the districts, Tehsils and Union Councils.

Convenor of the budget sub-committee, Sheikh Muhammad Ijaz submitted report seeking approval of the House to advance huge amount to city fathers.

The committee proposed an amount of Rs20,000 as monthly honorarium for the district Nazim and Naib Nazim.

The District Nazim will also get Rs30,000 per month in house rent, daily allowance of Rs500 and transport allowance of Rs3 per kilometre.

Naib Nazim will get Rs10,000 per month in house rent, Rs400 as daily allowance and Rs3 per kilometre as transport allowance.

Members of District Council will get Rs7,000 each as monthly honorarium, Rs3,000 monthly in house rent, daily allowance of Rs300 and transport allowance at the rate of Rs3 per a kilometer.

The resolution fixed monthly honorarium of Rs10,000, house rent of Rs5,000, Rs300 daily allowance and Rs3 per kilometre transport allowance for Tehsil Nazim.

Tehsil Naib Nazim will get monthly allowance of Rs7,000, house rent of Rs5,000, daily allowance of Rs300 and transport allowance of Rs3 per kilometer.

Members of the Tehsil Council will get honorarium of Rs3,000 each and their daily allowance will be Rs300.

The report suggested a monthly honorarium of Rs7,000 for Union Council Nazim and Rs3,000 each for Naib Nazim, Union Councils.

Members of the Union Councils will also get Rs1,500 monthly allowance and their daily allowance will be Rs100.

Nazims, Naib Nazims and members will be paid allowances, perks and privileges from their councils concerned.—PPI
