PAKISTAN's victory against Malaysia in the Asian games has sent the whole nation into euphoric celebrations. The win comes at a very crucial time when Pakistan's hockey was at its lowest ebb. Pathetic performance in the World Cup and disappointing performance in Commonwealth games had frustrated the whole nation.

The win has given a reason of joy to the whole nation and people are ecstatic. After the win the whole nation came out on the streets to celebrate.

It seemed as if the good old times were back when Pakistan used to win nearly everything in hockey. The win was a short in the arm and its going to revive the national game.

The government should give a rousing reception to these heroes. Cash incentives should be given to motivate them. Jobs should be given to all the players. This is the time to show the players that we are proud of them and we acknowledge their service.

The cupboard was bare as Pakistan had not won a single major title for the last 16 years. Everyone in the PHF should be given a pat on the back for the victory as they bore the brunt early this year due to ignominious performance of the players.

Qasim Zia has fulfilled his performance and he should continue. The management should not become complacent and should start preparing for London Olympics. Young blood should be inducted as some of the senior players will not be around two years later.

It's been a long and painful wait but the ctory was sweet. As a supporter of the Pakistan team I had lost faith over a period of time. This victory has rejuvenated and has rekindled the hope that our glorious game of hockey will rise again. Well done, boys! You have done us proud. May you bring more laurels for the country.
