Nawaz`s visit to Quetta

Published January 7, 2010

THE leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Nawaz Sharif, visited Quetta on Jan 4. He met Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and discussed the overall situation of the province and appreciated the CM's efforts in streamlining the affairs of the province.

He also met the chief of the ANP, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, to have better relations with him and to assure him of his special support on the Balochistan affairs.

Tribal leaders brought their problems to him to discuss and find some good solutions. During his visit, Mr Sharif also discussed issues which are being faced by the people of the province.

However, his visit to Quetta apparently caused the common people much difficulties. There were traffic jams during his two-day visit, local buses stopped, business activities suffered and policemen were even reported to have manhandled people.
