RAWALPINDI, March 15: Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) organized various protest demonstrations on Friday as part of its awareness campaign against possible US attack on Iraq.
The campaign has been launched by the IJT activists to raise awareness among the masses about the aggressive designs of America.
The IJT wants people to come out on the streets to protest against the possible US-led war on Iraq and mount pressure on President Bush.
The biggest demonstration was held outside the main city mosque, Jamia Mohammadia, in Satellite Town.
The IJT activist Zahid Khan led the demonstration which was attended by a large number of people.
The participants were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans criticizing America and President Bush.
The IJT leaders opposed anti-Muslims policies of the US and said, despite protests all over the world, the US president was planning to impose a war on Iraq.
“If the US is really interested in bringing peace to the world, Bush should first disarm his own country and then ask the other nations to do so,” the said.
The US triggered the arms race in the world and maintained a stockpile of deadly weapons, they added.
