Powell phones Musharraf

WASHINGTON, March 17: President Pervez Musharraf was among 15 world leaders US Secretary of State Colin Powell spoke to Monday before Washington decided to withdraw the second resolution from the UN Security Council.

Besides Musharraf, he also spoke to the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Russia, China, Greece, Britain, and Spain. He also called UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

Powell told a news briefing in Washington that he still has “a very long list of leaders” he wants to call.
