LARKANA, March 19: Hesco officials on Wednesday disconnected power supply to 14 villages and 11 education in-stitutions for non-payment of dues.
The villages, whose electricity connections have been disconnected, include Amir Bakhsh Mughiri, Mian Lal, Khuhra, Paryal Jogi, Halipota, Daay-ji-Wandh, Mohammed Saleh Jeho, Sahib-ji-Wandh, Ghulam Mohammed, Garhi Harsa, Sahib Khan Junejo, Mulla Kalhoro, Ali Sher and Paliyo Gopang.
Cumulative dues against these villages had swelled up to about Rs3 million, Hesco officials said, adding that they had not cleared the dues despite repeated reminders.
The power supply of the forest office, fish market, D. C. High School, Ayub Colony Primary School, Muradwahan Primary School, Muradwahan Girls’ High School, Mughal Girls Primary and High School, Baharpur Primary School, Ghulam Bhutto Primary School, Ghulam Bhutto High School, Phul Goth Primary School, Channa Goth Primary School and Channa Goth High School.
Hesco officials have advised its defaulters to clear their dues or face disconnection of power supply.
It has been learnt that the Hesco chief would arrive here on Thursday (today) to assess the overall performance of the department.
