DADU: 15 health workers suspended

DADU, March 19: Fifteen health department officials were suspended on Wednesday on charges of negligence.

These officials were suspended after EDO (health) Dr Khadim Hussain Lakhair raided the health centres in Amri, Unarpur, Manzoorabad and Sann and found them to be absent from their duties at the Unarpur health centre.

Those, who have been suspended, include medical superintendent Syed Sajid Ali Shah, Dr Ghulam Hussain Memon, Dr Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Dr Mohammad Usman Brohi, Dr Naheed Fayaz, women health workers Samina Shahid, Kaniz Fatima, female ward attendant Ms Yasmin, midwives Ms Haleema and Ms Farida, watchman Rafique Ahmed, and clerk Aijaz Ali.

Dr Maroof and Dr Abrar of health centre Sann, one from Amri health centre Dr Ghulam Sarwar Shaikh and two doctors Dr Mushtaq Shaikh, Dr Nooruddin Solangi of health centre Manzoorabad were also found absent from duty.

The EDO (health) issued show cause notices to doctors of the Manzoorabad health centre, while others were suspended. A report has also been sent to the secretary, health, for further action.
