ISLAMABAD, May 19 Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on Tuesday ordered the chairmen of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to appear before him on May 20 in a suo motu case regarding the affected persons of Kuwait-Iraq war.

The directive was issued after the chief justice took the suo motu notice of appeals by the affected persons of Iraq-Kuwait war action committee that appeared in different sections of the press.

The affected persons said they were deprived of their money while returning to Pakistan during the Iraq-Kuwit war.

They said the United Nations had received claims of the affected people living in Pakistan through the OPF and also issued receipts to them.

Furthermore, the total amount of all the claims of the affected persons was handed over to the OPF for disbursement among them, but nothing happened after that.

National Accountability Bureau also took up the case and recovered the amount which was to be disbursed amongst the affected people but due to unknown reasons the bureau could not distribute the amount.
