QUETTA, April 7 Four people were killed and four others injured in three firing incidents here on Wednesday and initial investigations reveal that the attacks were the result of tribal feuds.

In the first incident, unidentified men, on a motorcycle, attacked six men travelling in a car in the Hazar Ganji area on the outskirts of Quetta. Two of them died on the spot and the third in the Bolan Medical College Hospital. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Omar, Mohammad Ashraf and Murad Jan. Their companions who were injured are Mohammad, Akbar and Haji Hamza.

Dawn has learnt that the killings were due to an old tribal rivalry. This was confirmed by the police who also said that the attackers and the victims were from the Mohammad Hasni Tribe and shared a history of enmity.

In a separate incident, a man, Bilal Ahmed Zehri, was shot dead on his way home on Sheikh Omar Road. He too was fired upon by unidentified men who were riding a motorcycle.

In the third incident, armed men shot and injured Sub Inspector Maula Bukhsh on Qambarani Road, as he was on his way to his police station. Preliminary investigations, say police officials, reveal that his attack was also due to an old tribal feud.
