Two miners killed in Swabi

SWABI, Jan 6 Two mineworkers died and one got injures during sliding in the Sheikh Jana Mountain here on Wednesday.

Roman Shah was killed on the spot while Ataur Rehman succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

The condition of injured Jabir Khan was not stable, sources said. District Nazim Shahram Khan Tarakai and former MNA Mohammad Fazil asked the government to grant financial assistance to the families of the victims.

SUI GAS The residents of Topi have demanded provision of gas to different areas of the tehsil immediately.

Residents of Miro area of Musakhel told this correspondent that over 200 families had applied for gas connection but so far they could not get the facility.

They asked the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) officials to provide gas to the residents on priority basis.

Sajjad Ahmad, a local, claimed that some officials had taken Rs4,000 each from 11 families, assuring them immediate gas connection but still they were without the facility.

Similar complaints against the staff were also received from other areas of the district. However, SNGPL officials were not available for comment.
