QUETTA, May 6 Seven people, three security personnel among them, were killed and 11 others injured in a rocket attack and an ambush on an FC vehicle in Sibi and Dera Bugti districts on Wednesday.

Official sources said that Frontier Corps vehicle was ambushed in Tali village.

Three security personnel were killed and three others injured.

“Our three soldiers were killed on the spot,” a senior security official told Dawn, adding that the FC men were sweeping the area for landmines when they were attacked.

The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Sibi and their condition was said to be serious. The dead soldiers were identified as Naik Farmanullah and sepoys Mohammad Ramzan and Abdul Rahim and the injured as Gohar Khan, Naimatullah and Mohammad Ibrahim.

In Dera Bugti, three members of a family were killed and eight people were injured when a rocket hit their house in Marove village.

“The rocket hit the house killing a man, a woman and a child on the spot,” official sources said, adding that the attackers also opened fire on nearby houses.

According to sources, another person was killed in an exchange of fire between militants and security personnel in Kahan area of Kohlu district.
