SWABI, Sept 5 The students have been taking classes in the open as the ration dumped in the classrooms for Malakand IDPs has yet to be removed. The schools in Swabi were reopened on Sept 1 after summer vacations.

The classrooms could not be emptied of commodities until Eidul Fitr, sources said.

WFP officials said they had already contacted the officials concerned at the provincial level to know about the plan when the wheat flour and other commodities would be shifted from the government middle school Lalu Dheri, government primary school Wali Baz Khan Koroona and government high school Yar Hussain.

The sources said the headmasters and head teachers of the aforementioned educational institutions had raised the issue with the EDO (education) who had yet to take steps in this direction. An employee of the WFP said the food items would not be shifted to other points till security agencies allowed them to establish food points at Swat and Lower Dir.—Correspondent
