LARKANA, March 24: A partial strike was observed on the call of Jamait-Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) here on Monday to condemn the US aggression against Iraq.

A procession was also taken out. Hafiz Ahmed Ali Abbasi, Hafiz Dur Muhammed Shehro, Badaruddain Surhiyo and other ulemas led the procession that after marching on main roads of the city turned into a rally at Jinnahbagh.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders condemned the US-led attack on Iraq. They called on Muslim countries to stand by Iraqi people. The demonstrators burned a crude effigy of the US president and the US flag.

DADU: Hundreds of the MMA activists and sympathizers took out a procession here on Sunday to protest against the US attack on Iraq.

The participants marched on main roads of the town. They were carrying banners and raising slogans against US president George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The procession was led by local MMA leader Muhammad Ashraf Sekhrani and the president of Technical Shop Owners Association Muhammad Tufail.

HYDERABAD: Workers, belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League- N’s women’s wing, staged a demonstration outside the local press club to protest against the US attack on the people of Iraq.

In the meantime, the people of the Nindo Shaher in Badin taluka on Monday took out a rally against the US-led invasion of Iraq.

They adorned a donkey-cart with an effigy of US President George W. Bush and marched on the main roads of the town.

Protesters raised slogans against President Bush and UK’s Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Later, they set the effigy of President Bush and a US flag at the Shahnawaz Chowk.

They demanded of the government to act in accordance with the people of Pakistan.

Another anti-war rally was taken out in Rajo Khanani town.

THATTA: Three separate processions were taken out in Thatta, Daro and Jati towns to protest against attacks on Iraq by the US-led coalition forces here on Monday.

Students staged a demonstration in front of the local press club after marching through the main streets of the city. The demonstration was held under the aegis of the Shagird Ittehad, Degree College Makli.

Protesters set on fire effigies of US President George W. Bush and also a US flag.

Processions were staged in Daro and Jati towns, where the speakers expressed similar anti-war and anti-US sentiments.
