President in Multan

MULTAN, March 25: President Pervez Musharraf spent a busy day here on Tuesday.

According to an ISPR press release, the president was welcomed by Multan corps commander Lt-Gen Shahid Saddiq Trimzi and other senior military officers.

The president attended a briefing at the corps headquarters on operational, administrative and other professional aspects of the corps.

Later, he addressed the garrison officers and urged them to get hard training during peace times as it would pay dividends in times of conflict.

He was also chief guest as colonel-in-chief of the corps of artillery at an installation ceremony to pin ranks of colonel commandant to Brig Naseem Akhtar Khan of a self-propelled artillery regiment.

The president will visit Bahawalpur corps on Wednes-day.
