PESHAWAR Shahabuddin Hekmatyar, younger brother of Hizb-i-Islami Afghanistan's Chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who was reportedly picked up by intelligence agencies some months ago, has reached home.
His family sources revealed he was picked up from an area near Tehkal University Road on August 16.
It was reported he was living in Shamshato suburbs which earlier had a refugee camp. He was reportedly a businessman and had nothing to do with the Hizb-i-Islami.
The source said Mr Shahabuddin being a businessman was leading an ordinary life.
He said it was not yet known as to who had picked him up because he is avoiding talking about his disappearance. The source said it was yet to be confirmed as to what was the purpose of keeping him for so many months.
The envoy's repeated support for former PM Imran Khan recently gained momentum after he responded to a local media report which had made claims about his sexual orientation.
