HARIPUR, March 26: Activists of non-governmental organizations held a protest demonstration on Wednesday to condemn the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq.

The demonstration was organized by the NGOs Ittehad Committee.

Workers of Sungi, RDP, Central Action Committee on Women’s Rights and other organizations marched through the main market from Sheranwala Gate to Chowk Panian in a procession displaying placards inscribed with pro-peace and anti-war slogans.

The speakers criticized the coalition forces’ attack on innocent people and demanded an immediate end to the bombing of Iraq.

They criticized the United Nations for its failure in stopping the United States aggression against Iraqi people.

The lawyers took out a procession that begun from the district courts and ended at Chowk Panian, where the speakers condemned invasion of Iraq by the United Kingdom and the US and termed it a naked aggression against innocent Iraqis. They said the situation called for unity among the Ummah.

The termed the bombing of Iraqi people a barbaric act.
