KARACHI Mohammad Umair's last-gasp equaliser rescued Sialkot who forced a 3-3 draw against Karachi at the Junior Super Hockey League at Hockey Club of Pakistan on Saturday.

The topsy-turvy match game started with Karachi opening the score in the 12th minute through a penalty corner conversion by Zubair Ahmad.

Dawood Khalid cancelled out the effort in the 37th minute before Karachi went 2-1 up in the 48th minute through Mohammad Ali. Sialkot took barely 60 seconds to once again put the game on an even keel through Mohammad Adnan penalty corner conversion.

Karachi were reduced to 10 players in the 49th minute when Aley Imran was suspended temporarily, while Waseem Abbas of Sialkot was yellow carded twice, first in the 31st and then in the 43rd minute.

Undaunted by the Sialkot's resilience, Karachi were again in the lead, this time through a short corner by Aley in the 65th minute.

The local outfit, who were just a minutes away from victory, were frustrated by Umair who slotted home the equaliser and was declared the player of the match for saving his side from a possible defeat.

Abbottabad brought the high-flying Lahore down to earth when they drew 1-1 with the team from Punjab.

Abbottabad opened the account through a 16th-minute penalty corner converted by Abdul Qayyum before Lahore equalised when Ghaffar scored through a penalty stroke in the 27th minute.

Mohammad Tauseeq rescued Faisalabad with a late winner in 2-1 victory against Islamabad.

The winners took the lead when Mohammad Rizwan slotted home through a penalty stroke in the ninth minute only to see his effort being cancelled out by Islamabad's Arsalan in the 56th minute. Usman of Islamabad was yellow-carded in the 38th minute.

Tauseeq slotted home the match-winner in the 65th minute while his team-mate Ali Hussain Faraz was sent off temporarily in the 68th minute.

Interestingly, Rizwan who first got a yellow card in the 46th minute and a green card in the 73rd minute was declared the player of the match.

Larkana scored a shock 2-0 win over a 10-man Peshawar.

Taufeeq Ahmad scored the opening goal in the eighth minute on a penalty corner. Peshawar suffered two setbacks when Bilal Khan was sent off temporarily in the 45th minute, while Zohaib Khan was red-carded in the 61st minute.

Taking advantage of depleted Peshawar, Larkana netted their second through S. Hassan in the 71st minute.
