KARACHI Pakistan No 2 Mohammad Asif crashed out from the IBSF World Snooker Championship when he went down fighting 3-4 to England's David Craggs in the knockout round of last-64 in Hyderabad, India, on Friday.
Asif, who qualified for the knockout stage from group C with three wins and two defeats, had a brisk start and surged to 3-1 lead when he lost concentration and conceded the last three frames.
The Englishman was home 52-62, 82-39, 43-53, 26-82, 62-3, 55-46, 58-15 and advanced into the last 32.
Pakistan's top cueists Mohammad Sajjad, however, completed his league engagements with a clean slate and topped group K. He bulldozed Lai Chee Wei of Malaysia 4-2 in the last match on Thursday. The scores were 44-56, 45-57, 92-1, 111-25, 67-28, 68-0.
He now meets Chih-Hua Huang of Chinese Taipei in the knockout round on Saturday at 10.00am.
