LAHORE Pakistan's volleyball squad left for UAE today to take part in the 11th Al-Rashid International Men's Volleyball Championship starting from October 22nd at Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 

The 12-member squad will be captained by ace spiker Zaheer in the tournament which also includes host UAE, Indonesia, Thailand, Bahrain and Oman, according to the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) secretary Major (ret) Muhammad Afzal.

 

He said that the event will starts from October 22nd and will conclude on October 28th.

 

Afzal said that the squad was announced after a long and rigorous training camp which was underway at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad for over a month.

 

Pakistan squad Zaheer Abbas (captain), Shah Rukh, Pir Bakhs Yasin, Asif Nadeem, Syed Shujja Abbas, Mohib Rasool, Imdad Hussain, Nasir Khan, Ali Abbas, Farooq Khan, Munir Khan and Muhammad Ismail Khan.

 

Team officials are Zafar Abbas Lak (manager), Muhammad Jameel (Head coach) and Hassan Mazhar Hussain (Assistant coach).

 

Pakistan won the bronze medal in the 10th edition of Al-Rashid International Men's Volleyball Championship. -APP
