ISLAMABAD Pakistans newly-hired boxing coach, Francesco Hernandez Roldan of Cuba, has confirmed to take up his job next month.

Roldan has intimated Pakistan Boxing Federation that he would join the Pakistan boxers after the AIBA World Boxing Championship being held at Milan (Italy) from August 28-September 13.

Five Pakistani boxers have been selected to participate in the world event.

The services of the Cuban coach for the Pakistan boxing squad have been acquired courtesy Pakistan Sports Board, said PBF President Doda Khan Bhutto, and Secretary General Mohammed Akram Khan.

They hoped that Roldan would make a discernible difference in Pakistani pugilists performance in the coming multi-sports international competitions such as South Asian, Asian and Commonwealth Games.

Above all, they said the Cuban coach would help a good number of Pakistani boxers to succeed in the qualifiers for the London Olympics 2012.
