KARACHI Pakistan's national junior champion Asjad Iqbal bowed out of the pre-quarter-final round of the IBSF World Under-21 snooker championship in Kish Island, Iran.

 

According to information received here on Tuesday, Asjad went down to local player Amir Sarkhoosh 3-5 in the well-fought match.

 

Asjad lost 57-65, 54-96, 61-60, 22-74, 66-32, 47-54, 77-21, 20-80.

 

Earlier, in the last-32 round, Asjad defeated Khalid Ali Kamali of the United Arab Emirates 5-2.

 

Asjad lost the second and penultimate frames before emerging 79-64, 42-49, 79-32, 83-38, 100-7, 22-67, 46-37 winner.

 

Pakistan junior number two Hamza Akbar offered good fight to Ali Al Obaidly of Qatar before going down 3-5 (58-92, 56-29, 13-95, 15-93, 67-41, 54-52, 61-71, 45-63).
