HYDERABAD, April 21 President of the Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union, Sindh chapter, has threatened that if Hesco employees are not provided security, they will suspend electricity supply to the city and resort to protest.
Abdul Latif Nizamani was speaking at an emergency meeting held on Tuesday to consider the situation arising out of attacks on Hesco offices.
Chairman of the Latifabad division chapter, Syed Nazim Ali, told the meeting that on Tuesday at 3am, the Latifabad union council-1 nazim and 12 armed persons attacked Hesco's Latifabad sub-division office and thrashed operator Irfan.
They also harassed the other staff who were performing duties in Hussainabad, he said.
The meeting was also informed that two days ago, hundreds of people had attacked Rizvi sub-division on Autobhan Road. They set ablaze a vehicle and ransacked the offices. The meeting noted that attempts were also made to torch the building while the employees were beaten up.
