HYDERABAD, Jan 30 A summary for the approval of additional Rs170 million has been sent to provincial finance ministry, said Sindh Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed. Additional money was being sought to meet the deficit which would be created after the promotion of employees of the Health Department, he said.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Sindh Paramedical Staff Association whose office-bearers were assured by the minister when they called on him in Karachi on Thursday.
They included General Secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Khan, Vice-President Saleem Bhatti, Abdul Latif Otho, Nazar Mohammad Rajpar, Asghar Ali Pathan and others.
The minister said that 33 per cent of the employees under new service were granted promotion earlier costing some Rs50 million while now the government had decided to accommodate all 35,000 employees for which it was seeking additional Rs170 million.
The minister disclosed of receiving 300 applications from the children of deceased employees whom he assured of sending appointment orders in a week.
He hinted at submitting a proposal on heirs quota of retired employees under which 25 per cent employment would be reserved for them.
LUMHS The parents of employees of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences will be covered by new health insurance policy, said Vice Chancellor, Prof Noshad Ahmed Shaikh in a meeting reviewing the status of project here at the College of Nursing.
He said it was the first ever health insurance policy being introduced in different universities and he was happy to announce it for all LUMHS employees getting medical coverage for their families. He said that this will enable the employees to work hard with peace of mind.
