HYDERABAD, Feb 19 PPP senator-designate Moula Bux Chandio has said that strengthening the country's institutions is on the priority list of his party and the people's government is doing everything possible to make people prosperous.

He said that it was for the first time in the history of the country that all the senators from Sindh had been elected unopposed due to political acumen and sagacity of President Asif Ali Zardari.

He was speaking at a reception hosted by the Sindh council member of the Pakistan People's Party, Syed Fayaz Ali Shah, in Tando Wali Mohammad here.

Mr Chandio said that the government was striving to restore supremacy of parliament, strengthen democracy, eliminate militancy and ensure recruitment in government departments purely on the basis of merit.

He said that the government was determined to solve all the problems of the masses and restore the supremacy of law.
