Published April 27, 2009

DADU, April 26 A token hunger strike by physically-challenged persons entered its 104th day here on Sunday.

They are protesting against what they said appointment of normal people on their quota in different government departments.

Over 40 physically-challenged persons took out a procession and held a demonstration out side the press club. They were carrying banners and raising slogans in favour of their demands. President of Disabled Persons Welfare Association, Sahib Khan Babar, and general secretary Ahmed Ali Mallah were leading them.

They accused government officers of appointing normal people on their quota.

Demonstrators deplored that they had been observing the token hunger for 104 days, but no one paid attention to their protest.

Meanwhile, five supporters of the People's Party observed a hunger strike out side the press club here on Sunday, demanding jobs.

Earlier, protesters Ahmed Khan Lashari, Sajid Bughio, Zamin Hussain Shaikh, Dodo Khan Chandio and Rashid Ali Sheikh took out a procession.
