ATTOCK, April 5: Two persons, including a minor girl, were killed in two different incidents here on Saturday.

A 4-year-old girl student of nursery class was run over by her own school bus due to the alleged negligence of driver at Balhoot village in the jurisdiction of police station Batter.

The police said two sisters —- Anam Bibi and Marviah Bibi of Fauji Foundation School —- alighted from their own school bus (DGD 3351) in front of their house. In the meantime, the bus driver reversed the vehicle, which hit Anam Bibi badly.

She was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The police has registered the case against the bus driver, Zulfiqar.

Meanwhile, thieves and burglars struck at various places in Attock on Friday night

Three unknown persons snatched Rs13,085 from an army personnel at gunpoint, when he was on his way to house at Basal on Friday night, the police said.

In another incident, Rs3,000 and some valuable items were looted from a shop at Jand. Later, the outlaw was intercepted by the villagers along with stolen items.

Some unknown persons entered the house of Syed Raza Naqvi, a local journalist, at People’s Colony in the city and took away with them a sports bicycle. At the same locality, unknown persons lifted a bicycle from the house of a motor mechanic, Iftikhar.

A man was killed after being hit by a stray bullet at Ghora Mar village on Saturday.

According to the police, Naeem Khan was killed when Mohammad Ali started aerial firing at a marriage ceremony. The Saddar police have registered a case and started investigation.

GRID STATION: The federal minister for water and power, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, will inaugurate the construction of 132kv grid station at Gondal on April 7.

The Wapda chairman, Lt-Gen Zulfiqar Ali Khan (retired) and the chief executive of Iesco, Brig Waseem Zafar, will also accompany the minister.

Talking to the Agency, Riaz Ali Shah, the XEN, said the grid station would cost approximately Rs60 million. It would solve the low voltage problems of the entire Chach area besides providing thousands of new domestic and commercial connections, he added.
