SALZBURG Researchers have unveiled two piano pieces newly identified as written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The International Mozarteum Foundation says the concerto movement and the prelude were likely created when Mozart was between seven and eight years old. The works are part of 'Nannerl's Music Book,' a well-known manuscript containing the prodigy's earliest compositions.

The foundation says analyses confirm Mozart's father transcribed the pieces as his son played them on the keyboard, as Mozart was not yet versed in musical notation.

Austrian pianist Florian Birsak played the pieces for reporters Sunday in Mozart's home city of Salzburg.
