KARACHI, March 7 After playing a series of brilliant outings in the tournament, third seed Yasir Butt of Pakistan, who is placed at No 63 in world rankings, has lost the final of the $12,000 FAJR International PSA Tour squash event to the second seeded Amr Swelim of Egypt, at Kish Island in Iran.

Yasir took the lead by winning the first set 11-9. But Amr, who is 15 places higher than him in world rankings, was in no mood to let go of the match this easily. Amr won the next two sets 11-8, 11-7 to snatch the lead from Yasir.

The fourth set saw Yasir taking the game to a tie-breaker which, however, wasn't good enough with Amr finally clinching his third PSA Tour title in a third continent.

“I'm very happy to win this title,” Amr Swelim later told reporters. “The first game was too close so I changed my game in the second and it worked. Yasir is a talented player,” he added.—PPI
